Stamping characteristics and application of copper metal

Copper is second only to silver in conductivity and heat resistance. Copper has excellent heat conductivity, making it a major material for electrical, HVAC and gas pipe applications; Copper is suitable for a variety of surface treatments, usually selected for construction, design hardware and consumer applications; Good durability, corrosion resistance and good ductility make it an ideal choice for wiring, piping and other industrial uses. Copper is also a natural health metal with antibacterial properties, which can be used in food and beverage industries. Copper is also highly recyclable and does not degrade or lose mass, making it an attractive green choice. It is widely used in electronics, automobile, aerospace, communications, medical and other manufacturing industries.

Classification and Application of Stamping Copper

The classification and application of common copper and copper alloys are shown in the table:

Copper Common Applications
Copper High conductivity and thermal conductivity, ranking second only to silver. The standard electrode potential of copper is+0.345V, which is higher than hydrogen. It cannot replace hydrogen in aqueous solution. Therefore, copper has good chemical stability in many media. Application: various conductors, cables, conductive plates, electrical switches and other conductive equipment, as well as various condenser tubes, radiator tubes, heat exchangers, vacuum arc furnace crystallizers, etc. The amount of conductive materials accounts for more than half of the total copper materials.
copper alloys Brasses Common brass It is a Cu Zn binary alloy,
1. H96, H90 and H85: they have good conductivity, thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance, sufficient strength and good cold and hot working performance, and are widely used to make condenser tubes, radiator tubes, fins, cooling equipment and conductive parts.
2. H70, H68: High plasticity, high strength, and excellent cold forming performance. It is suitable for cold stamping or deep drawing to manufacture various parts with complex shapes, such as cartridge case, condenser tube, etc..
3. H62: high strength, good plasticity in hot state; It has good plasticity in cold state, good machinability, corrosion resistance, and easy welding. It is widely used in industry with plates, bars, pipes, wires, etc., which is called “commercial brass”. Suitable for manufacturing stressed parts, such as washers, springs, conduits, radiators, etc.
4. H59: high strength; It has high zinc content, can withstand hot pressure processing, and has general corrosion resistance. It is mostly used in the machinery manufacturing industry with bars and profiles.
Lead brass Lead brass has excellent cutting performance, wear resistance, high strength, corrosion resistance, and good conductivity. It is widely used in automobile, watch, electrical appliances and other industries with bars, flat materials, strips, etc. to make various screws, nuts, electrical sockets, watch parts, etc.
Aluminium brass Aluminum brass is mostly used in HAL7-2, which is mainly made of high-strength and corrosion resistant pipes, and is widely used as condensers for seagoing ships and power stations.
Tin brass Tin brass has good corrosion resistance and can withstand hot and cold pressure processing. It is mainly used in seagoing ships and thermal power plants for high-strength, corrosion resistant condenser tubes, heat exchangers, ship parts, etc.
Manganese brass Manganese brass can better withstand hot and cold pressure processing, and has good corrosion resistance. It is widely used in shipbuilding, military and other industries.
Bronzes Tin bronze Corrosion resistant bearing parts, such as springs, bearings, gear shafts, worm gears, washers, etc. Common materials such as QSn4-3, QSn6.5-0.4, ZCuSn10Pb1, etc
Aluminium bronze The strength, hardness, wear resistance, heat resistance and corrosion resistance are higher than those of brass and tin bronze. The casting performance is good, but the welding performance is poor. It is mainly used to manufacture high-strength, wear-resistant and corrosion resistant parts in ships, aircraft and instruments, such as gears, bearings, worm gears, shaft sleeves, propellers, etc. Common materials include QAl5, QAl7, ZCuAl8Mn13Fe3Ni2, etc
Beryllium copper It has high strength, elastic limit, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, good conductivity, thermal conductivity, cold and hot processing and casting performance, but it is expensive. Common brands include QBe2, QBe1.7, QBe1.9, etc. It is used for important elastic parts and wear parts, such as precision springs, diaphragms, high-speed and high-pressure bearings, explosion-proof tools, navigation compasses and other important mechanical parts
Cupronickel Copper alloy with copper as the base and nickel as the main alloy element. Common white copper has high corrosion resistance, corrosion fatigue resistance and excellent cold and hot working performance. Common materials, such as B5 and B19, are used for precision machinery, instrument parts, condensers, distillers, heat exchangers, etc. working in steam and seawater environments Common materials such as BMn40-1.5 (Constantan) and BMn43-0.5 (Kaotong) are used to manufacture precision machinery, instrument parts and medical devices.
